Happy New Year!

I’ve been busy the last couple of days. Made great strides getting the unmounted stamps catalogued. I hope to finish up tonight. Today was quite the day—I bought a new car. I had an issue yesterday—while doing some running around, I got in the car after one of my stops and BANG!!! The latch thingy that holds the back of the driver’s seat in position broke loose and I was suddenly flat on my back! Luckily, it happened in a parking lot and not on the road, and also close to home. Have you ever tried to drive with nothing to lean against? It’s darned near impossible! So this morning, I was on the phone with a service shop to see how much it would cost to fix, and the estimate was around $300. Well, the car is 10 years old, also needs new tires and brakes and has an oil leak that isn’t getting any better. The air conditioning broke a couple of years ago and I never got it fixed because it was going to cost $1300 to fix it then, and now the car has 132,000 miles on it. I’d been planning on getting something new in the next year or so, so I decided that today was the day. So—now I hope I’m set for the next 10 or 15 years!!! If all goes according to plan, my next new car will be when I retire in 15 years, and that car is going to be a shiny red Cadillac!! Well, at least a gal can dream, can’t she???

I did do a quick card this evening. A new challenge was just posted over at Gingersnap CreationsGCSP2—Case a CAS.  I chose Ali’s clean and simple (CAS) Warhol Style. I love doing things like this that are out of my comfort zone. White card bases are unusual for me, and I don’t usually do anything CAS, so thanks for the great challenge!!!! Here’s my card, the first of my Valentines:

Hope you like it—be sure and let me know!

In the meantime, have a very Happy New Year! I wish you all happiness and health in 2010!

Clean and simple inspiration…

Those of you who know me know that clean and simple (also known as CAS) cards aren’t really my style. However, I know many of  you love CAS, so I want to share a great inspirational tutorial with you today. Gina from Gina K. Designs is responsible for  StampTV on YouTube and recently uploaded this fabulous tutorial for tone on tone embossing. Check it out—I think you’ll love it!
